Dark Light

Jyoti Chordia (born 1975) is a self-taught artist whose work reflects a profound connection to color, texture, and emotion. Having lived across Bengal, Tamil Nadu, the USA, and now settled in Udaipur, Rajasthan, her paintings capture the richness of these diverse cultural landscapes. Jyoti’s conceptual abstracts use flowing lines, bold contrasts, and layered textures to explore interconnectedness, harmony, and chaos often drawing viewers into meditative cycles of thought and feeling. Beyond painting, she serves as a trustee of Saahas Art Foundation, supporting artists, social welfare, and animal care initiatives. Her art has been showcased in national and international exhibitions, including the Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Nehru Centre Art Gallery, and group shows in Delhi, Kolkata, and Udaipur. Deeply inspired by color, she describes her practice as an endless journey of finding and losing herself on canvas, inviting each viewer to do the same.
